Hi, My Name Is Aaron.

Most companies put their values into a manifesto. I want to put mine into action.

This is my story...

After nearly three decades working in hospitality industry, I realized two things.  First, I didn’t like working in the hospitality industry.  The hours were long and work was backbreaking.  Second, everything came down to relationships.

Nobody is willing to work 80 hour weeks in a hot kitchen next to someone they don’t trust, so I needed my team to trust me, and the only way to do that was to build a relationship that eclipsed the four walls of the restaurant.  I knew that if I did things right, treated people right, respected them, and valued them as human beings first, they would be the best asset I had.

Ultimately, I was successful working in restaurants.  But not because I was inherently good at it, but rather because I invested my time in building relationships with the people who worked with me.

Treat people right, respect them, and value them as human beings first

Life is simpler now.  I get weekends off, I can attend my kids track meets and band competitions, and I don’t need to worry about working Thanksgiving.  But those core beliefs that were ingrained into me years ago still effect how I look at everything else.

My first job working in insurance was with this big nation-wide company.  I was a captive agent (that meant I was only able to sell their product) and I was still pretty unsure about the type of work I was doing.  After a few weeks in, my trainer sat me down and told me that I needed to be pushier so that people would buy more.  We only got paid if we sold a policy and I since insurance isn’t a one-size-fits-all, and we could only sell the products this company offered, we were trained to essentially scare people into buying insurance by giving them worst case scenarios.

I hated it.  It wasn’t who I was or who I wanted to become.  I didn’t want to be that door-to-door salesman who wouldn’t take ‘no’ for an answer or duped you into buying things you didn’t actually need.

I still remember the first time I recommended to a client not to buy life insurance.  He had called us, asked me to come out and sell him some whole life insurance.  After a few minutes, he was ready to sign on the dotted line.  But it wasn’t the best choice for him.  I advised against it.  I ended up not selling any policies that day, but I slept better that night.

I was able to help this person after a bit of research and spending a bit of extra time with him, learning more about him, his family, and what he wanted out of retirement.  It took some extra work, but he was protected and we felt good about the situation.  This is how insurance should work.

I wanted to make a difference.  I wanted my conversations with people to matter.  People have questions and they do not always understand all of the nuances or details of what they are looking at.  I wanted to be the person to answer those questions, to help them understand a world that I have come to enjoy, understand how insurance can bring peace of mind & financial protection, help them see how insurance can be used to save money, and even help them with those small problems they are having when they can’t get a live person on the phone to answer a simple question for them.

I truly felt that if you invested your time into people, gave them honest, unbiased advice without trying to shove a policy down their throat, you could be successful.

That’s who I wanted to be.

“If you invest your time into people, you can be successful.

I started this company to do one thing; allow me to better connect with people that need help.

Insurance can be difficult to understand and even more difficult to navigate.  I want to be the resource you can count on.

So now I do insurance a little bit differently than when I first started out.  I am able to do things the way I feel it is supposed to be done.  No salesmanship.  No tricks trying to get you to buy something.  No fees.  Just honest advice and building relationships the way I always have.
